[Arthur nearly drops his glass in surprise - he's not used to getting forged, especially in real life - and rubs his eyes]

Do you want to go with Eddie to some kind of strip club in that?

[ the exaggerated expression of surprise probably looks out of place on arthur's face. oh well. ]

He wants to take me out this weekend.

[Arthur shakes his head]

He's very persistent. He suggested I choose the venue.

[ eames mirrors the movement, then reaches down to adjust his cuffs in a flawless impersonation. he's worked with arthur far too long; this is all second nature. ]

Is this a social call or something more?

[To his credit, Arthur doesn't seem terribly bothered.]

With Edward Nygma? It could be either, or both. He could be honest when he says he's just interested in keeping me happy, although if that's the case, then he doesn't know me well at all.

I suppose I could spare an evening, in that event.

[ it seems the least he can do, especially when arthur has come home bearing such impressive gifts. ]

James and I were considering a project relating to him anyway.

Just be careful what you say. I don't think he can see through a forge, but he can still tell if you're lying.

What kind of project?

Does it not depend upon the nature of the lie?

[ because when eames forged, it was not impersonation. it was the wearing of another's skin. it was becoming them for a time. testing that on eddie would be interesting, to say the least. ]

I'm not certain. We're meeting to hammer out details sometime soon.

I don't know. I don't know how much his power catches.

[Arthur finally shrugs off his coat]

[ eames considers that for a moment, then rolls his shoulder, shifting smoothly into his blond forge, then again into himself. he looks ridiculously pleased with himself. ]

It always surprises me when you admit there are things you don't know.

[His eyes flicker towards Eames. He likes that forge but will never admit it]

[ the jacket is shucked off and laid carefully across the back of the couch. ]
